Casa de Waffle; The Valero Blues; A Party of Woo-Woo’s; Early Rev for a South Dakota Connection

Thought I'd put in one sunset photo at Buckley AFB. The skies haven't been as clear as normal because of forest fires in Idaho, but this evening we had a nice clear sky.
The other day when I was listening to the young girls shrieking at McDonald’s, I glanced up and saw a vision. It was a miracle! It was Waffle House! We had not seen a Waffle House since Texas. But it was late afternoon, too late for breakfast. So it was with great anticipation that we arose Tuesday morning and drove to Casa de Waffle, as we often refer to that oasis of Southern hospitality and perfect diner food for our standard meal, hash browns “scattered and smothered” with eggs and bacon, and of course a bottomless cup of coffee. Our waitress (they do not usually refer to themselves as servers... political correctness is not one of their characteristics) took our order and then we heard the translation for the cook: “pull 2, drop 1 bacon... (they use a proprietary code that mere mortals cannot easily comprehend). We were so hungry that we forgot to take a photo until our plates were almost clean, but here I am, joyous with gastronomic delight; in gustatory heaven; in culinary contentment...
After breakfast and a stop at Wally World, we returned to The Bus and suited up for PT. Suzanne decided on a short run and weights at the gym, I opted for a long run. I have to tell you, running at mile-high altitude isn’t a box of chocolates. I was whooped when I got back to The Bus. My better half, on the other hand, came back looking perky, chipper and none the worse for wear. (Sometimes life ain’t fair!)
We then hooked up the car to the tow bar and departed Buckley AFB, heading back to Fort Collins. On the way we needed fuel, and there was a Valero station just a mile or two from the base. Unfortunately, I misjudged the size of the driveway, and we had to unhook the car to fuel and hook it up again when we cleared the station. Each hook up/unhook evolution takes about five minutes, lots of bending, and wearing work gloves since the tow bar, hoses, and wires are full of road dirt. This was the first time since we left in May that we’ve had to unhook to fuel, so I guess we’ve been lucky.

Last night we had a great time at Donna and Bob Visocky’s house at a reception in Suzanne’s honor. Many of Donna’s friends and associates from BellaSpark Magazine were there, and Suzanne got to meet many of the movers and shakers in the New Age community here in Fort Collins. (Donna even calls them “her Woo-Woo friends).

This morning Suzanne got up early (0500) while I loafed with Rudy and Gretchen. She then drove over to Donna Visocky's house to use her land-line telephone for a live radio interview with a station in Watertown, South Dakota. Donna is a saint to get up at 0550 to let Suzanne use her phone, especially after hosting the Woo-Woo Party the night before. Thanks, Donna!
In a similar vein, Suzanne’s World Wellness Education Show is re-airing today through Monday on Lake County TV COMCAST Channel 22, Bright House Channel 199, and Florida Cable Channel 4. If you’re not in Florida, you can watch it (only at the times it’s showing): 10:00 AM, 3:30 PM, and 10:00 PM Eastern Time) at www.lakefront.lakecountyonline.com .

While I'm posting this blog at Starbuck's (no Wi-Fi in the Elks Lodge parking lot), Suzanne is giving another reading. Then we're off for hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park, Colorado, since we have a day before returning to Fort Collins for the Messages of Hope documentary event Thursday night.
